Pressure sensor usually refers to the component level product with non-standard mV signal output, which is the core component of pressure transmitter. Due to the non-standard signal, users need to calibrate the pressure and design a special signal processing circuit when using it; As the signal is weak, the amplifier needs to be added when the distance is long;


The pressure transmitter is also a pressure sensor in written sense, but its output signals are standard universal signals, such as 4~20mA, 1~5V, etc., which can be transmitted remotely and can be matched with standard instruments. At the same time, its pressure value has been calibrated, and users can use it only by setting the range of the instrument.


Differences between transmitter and sensor:


With the progress of technology, the meaning of some technical words has changed, which often leads to misunderstanding. A sensor is an example of this.


Now people say that the sensor is composed of two parts, namely, the sensing element and the conversion element. The sensing element refers to the part of the sensor that can directly feel or respond to the measurement; The conversion element refers to the part of the sensor that converts the measured signal sensed or responded by the sensitive element into an electrical signal suitable for transmission or measurement. Because the output signal of the sensor is generally weak, it needs to be modulated and amplified. With the development of integrated technology, these circuits and power supply circuits are also installed inside the sensor. In this way, the sensor can output the available signals for processing and transmission.


When the previous technology was relatively backward, the so-called sensor refers to the above sensitive element, and the transmitter is the above conversion element.


There are many kinds of transmitters. The transmitters used for industrial control instruments mainly include temperature transmitter, pressure transmitter, flow transmitter, current transmitter, voltage transmitter, etc.
