Is there a requirement for the working ambient temperature of the diaphragm pressure gauge?

Jul 31, 2022

Diaphragm pressure gauges actually have certain requirements on the temperature of the working environment during operation. If the diaphragm pressure gauge is used in an environment with too high temperature, it will also have some bad effects. So first understand how much temperature the diaphragm pressure gauge can withstand. So what is the heat resistance temperature of the diaphragm pressure gauge?

In the standards of various diaphragm pressure gauges in my country, generally only the normal working environment temperature of the diaphragm pressure gauge is specified. For example, the general diaphragm pressure gauge is -40-70 degrees, and the diaphragm pressure gauge is -25-55 degrees. heat resistance temperature.

Although there are diaphragm pressure gauge factories that produce heat-resistant diaphragm pressure gauges or high-temperature-resistant diaphragm pressure gauges, few diaphragm pressure gauge manufacturers clearly point out the heat-resistant temperature or high-temperature resistance temperature of diaphragm pressure gauges. This also makes it difficult for users of diaphragm pressure gauges.

What is the operating temperature of the so-called heat-resistant diaphragm pressure gauge or stainless steel high-temperature resistant diaphragm pressure gauge? Is it the working environment or the measured medium temperature?

Here we must first understand the welding temperature of various stainless steel diaphragm pressure gauge spring tubes, which are:

Brazing (tin soldering), the temperature during welding is 120 degrees, and it is mostly used for the welding of copper joints and copper spring tubes.

Silver welding, the temperature during welding is 600 degrees, and it is mostly used for welding copper joints and stainless steel spring tubes.

Argon arc welding, the temperature of welding is 1500 degrees, and it is mostly used for welding steel joints and stainless steel spring tubes.

So in general, as long as you know the welding method of the spring tube of the diaphragm pressure gauge, you can also know the ambient temperature that the diaphragm pressure gauge can withstand, that is, the brazed diaphragm pressure gauge can work normally below 120 degrees, and the silver welding Diaphragm pressure gauge can work normally below 600 degrees, and argon arc welded diaphragm pressure gauge can work normally below 1500 degrees.

In addition, there are also certain requirements for the material of some components used in heat-resistant diaphragm pressure gauges or high-temperature diaphragm pressure gauges. For example, the gaskets used in diaphragm pressure gauges should not be made of plastic, but aluminum or other high-temperature resistant materials. The dial of the diaphragm pressure gauge should also not use a plastic disc, but an aluminum or iron dial. Because at a higher temperature, the plastic ring and dial will deform and affect the operation of the pointer, making the diaphragm pressure gauge lose its function.
