What is a high-precision pressure sensor?

Mar 10, 2021

Pressure sensor, can be used as pressure measuring element or as a sensitive element, and then automatic control, especially for the former purpose, it puts forward a relatively high precision requirements. Since the accuracy of pressure sensors made of semiconductor chips is affected by temperature, attention should be paid to the temperature range used by the sensors.

Static accuracy refers to the accuracy that should be achieved at a particular temperature. It can be divided into four grades: 0.01-0.1%FS for ultra-high accuracy; 0.1-1%FS is high precision; 1-2%FS is general accuracy; 2-10%FS is low accuracy.

Accuracy in the full temperature range refers to the accuracy that the pressure sensor should achieve in the whole temperature range of use. It can also be divided into four grades: 0.01-011%FS; 0.1 1% FS; 1-2%FS; 2-10% FS.

For users, the accuracy of the pressure sensor is often desired to be as high as possible. But when the accuracy of the pressure sensor reaches high precision, it is inevitable that a lot of additional technology and calibration process are added in the production process, and compensation technology, and the corresponding cost is increased. Of course, its price has also increased greatly, so we should put forward reasonable accuracy requirements and the corresponding temperature range according to the actual application occasions and requirements of pressure sensors.
