How it works
Relationship between flow rate and float displacement: When the measured fluid flows from bottom to up through the conical measuring tube in the metal tube, the float moves upward under the action of the fluid. At a certain position, the buoyancy force exerted by the float is balanced with the gravity of the float, and the area of the circulation ring gap between the float and the orifice plate or conical tube remains constant. The annular gap area is proportional to the rise height of the float, that is, the position of the float rising in the measuring tube represents the magnitude of the flow rate.
Signal transmission principle: Changes in position of the float are transmitted to external indicators or converters through internal magnets. The converter converts the displacement signal of the float into standard electrical signals, such as 0-10mA, 4-20mA, etc., to realize long-distance transmission, display, recording, calculation and control functions.
Structural composition
Measuring tube body: usually made of metal, with good corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, and can adapt to different working environments and media. The interior is a vertical conical tube that expands from bottom to top, and the fluid to be measured flows in the tube.
Conical floats: generally made of corrosion-resistant materials, and their shape and density are designed according to different measurement ranges and media. The float moves up and down with the flow of fluid in the measuring tube, and its displacement is proportional to the magnitude of the flow.
Indicator and converter: Indicator is used to display flow values on site, and can use pointer, digital and other display methods. The converter converts the displacement signal of the float into an electrical signal for long-distance transmission and control. Some flowmeters also have magnetic filters, which are used to filter ferromagnetic substances in the medium to prevent them from adsorbing on the float and affecting the measurement accuracy.
Features
High measurement accuracy: The general accuracy can reach level 1.0, and the special type can reach level 0.5, which can meet the requirements for flow measurement accuracy in most industrial occasions.
Wide measurement range: The measurable flow range is wide, and accurate measurements can be made from small flows to large flows, with a range ratio usually 10:1.
